It was great apes that roamed earth naked. Early homo sapiens used to have some form of clothes for genitals. Humans as we know of todays evolved to us and began migrating from around 70,000 years ago. This was the time when world was in ice age. We couldnt have survived without clothes.
Moreover there has been needles suggesting seweing and the old age art of weaving that there is no origin of suggesting that we have been weaving threads from ever since. Humans weren't roaming ooga booga apes ever.
