was rewatching this [https://letterboxd.com/film/fallen-angels/] kino with my frens today. observed something peculiar. came back to my house, pirated the film. noticed that most posters in a saloon are of indians.
amir khan, karishma kapoor, naseeruddin shah, divya bharti. others are indian too, i just cant identify them. just an interesting observation. film is from 1995, based in hong kong.

Yeah Indians were everywhere in 90s hong kong and Indian pop culture was quite popular there back then. Even in the film you might've seen Indian workers and that indian kid kidnapped by the blonde wig.

wong kar wai is based. i first watched in the mood for love when i was 17 and then watched most of his films in a month. i rewatch with friends just to relive them.

interesting. i also came across a fact that in some chinese film, there was a shot of the protagonist going to the theatre to look for someone. the shot very briefly points to the film playing and it was raj kapoor s awaara. apparently that film was really popular in china.
