Telugus are a bunch of dalits/tribals who migrated from chattisgarh and odisha, and settled in the fertile krishna-godavari basin. Their only strength is breeding like rats, which they used with the help of this fertile region to rapidly expand and settle across most of what is now andhra/telangana.
They are the last major ethnicity to become civilised in india, much later than any of the others. They needed north indian, tamil and kannada empires to slowly civilise them and it look them till the later half of the first millenium for that.

Telangana and andhra had different trajectories as telangana is closer to the deccan and was ruled by the nizams for centuries. They were then in a princely territory whereas andhra was ruled by the madras presidency.
They have different accents, culture, caste structures, etc now which caused conflict and resentment
