if by utility you meant "why" then it is simple that relations are a drag, they slow you down everytime you want to do something. also you might have some goals and ambition that others will never ever understand, they wont consider how precious one's time is and make them drag through 100s of bullshit events for the sake of building relations that hold no value.

Me.
24M, went no contact with parents at 22M. I also tried to run away from home at 16 but was brought back by police.
We're typical upper caste and class hindu family. My father was narcissist who cared far more about his image in soyciety than his family's wellbeing, and my mother was a very spiteful evil woman who only cares about money.
I am now successful and have a. very close group of family-like friends from my MMA and music making hobbies. I can't wait to start my own family aomeday and do it right

This was actually the final straw.
My family at their core were societally aligned. I was not. They only cared for me when I brought them societal respect or money. They were uninterested in me as a unique individual with my own personality and ambitions.
I cut them all off. I only speak to a few cousins that I love and grew up with otherwise I am completely without family.

man, this is so relatable, my family especially my elder brother doesnt understand one thing about my life and my goals and ambitions. he is thinks i am some anti-social retard with no social skills, all he does is project and impose upon me, well for him he earns 15 lakhs in a month while i am studying hard to get a good job, only my mother and baap seem to understand this to some extent but even then whole house is full of noise.
Now that he is getting married and i am close to placements, he is making me do all the socialization stuff when it is literally not needed, when it was his time, i helped him so much, dropping him on railway stations at 3am when i was just in 10th class, now that it is my time, all he does is impose on me, he think his business development profile is similar to mine where i need to do more mental work which requires peace and quiet time. these n1ggers literally dont understand shit, i am genuiinely tired of their imposition. i dont even have much time, just few more months till feburary and i will be applying offcampus and oncampus with whatever prep i have done. i really just want to leave and earn money as soon as possible now. i have my own goals like building something of my own but i will never tell them this since only thing they do is become a roadblock.

my bad, he earns 15lpa not 15 in a month, still, his life is quite set for his age now, so he is carefree, only i remember how it used to be when it was his time of getting placed and when he used to study for exams, i still compromise a lot and still keep hearing that i dont do enough. such selfish n1ggers, they really think his in-laws are also my family and i need to participate in every shenganian of his.

yes, i do understand your point completely and i dont wish to be some anti-social person and i dont think of myself as an outlier either, i just dont want to do all this stuff right now, its mentally and physically exhausting, i want a good job as i have bigger goals and interests in life, i dont want a snail paced growth when i can have a good starting with some sacrifices and as for me being social part, i am very much social with anyone, its just i dont like useless socialization where one just keeps socializing for the sake of it.
