Why cant our gormint just make a mini fighter jet, which is extremely barebones but it flys fast and drops bomb, why do u need all the technology bullshit like radar and etc etc if the only goal is to kill. Instead of buying 30-40 aircraft from foreign nation, just build 1000 rat tier mini fighters

You can't have smaller jet engines because powerplant will not be powerful enough which means radar won't be either - but mig21 + flanker combo kinda works where we share info from flankers to mig21 which does the needful.
Advance version of that is CATS program.
