I think there should be five core categories within general. I think how GOI goes with it lacks a very core component that is structure. If I was given a choice I would divide it into

>Kshatriya
>Vaishya
>Kayastha
>Avarniya
This would allow a more accurate analysis of general caste, and allow people to easily opt out non Dwija out or statistics of they need to do that. I added Kayastha and Avarnia seperately so jaats and gujjars and those who do not come under Hindu hegemony can be included here as well.
