What do you y'all think about the upcoming deal for Rafale jets, but it's without the source codes and integration to current missile systems is to be discussed

Truth is that this 36bn usd deal will inflate further. There are lots of problems
>How will you integrate rafale with our IAF network
>If we want to have indigenous weapons we will have to share crucial secretive details with dassault
It's likely that dassault will delay the integration, even provide alternate and IAF will gladly whimper and cry and force government to shell out more money so our indigenous weapons will never get integrated and will die.
It will only further increase the dependency on imports, forex flush nothing else.
>Rafale itself is nothing spectacular
It's radar is limited, they are already dangling non existing '6th gen radar' meme, it's only going to lead for more delay, more forex flush nothing else.
It's not a 5th gen, it's a 4.5th gen aircraft which means it doesn't really solve the problem of against China fielding 5th gen and 6th gen aircrafts or even against their radars it will be ineffective. And now what happens if pakistan gets J35?
Rafale even will be delivered by 2032 or even later if we sign the deal right now, it neither improves the numbers in IAF nor it will be the cutting edge for its time. Nor provides any lead.
>Dassault failure to fulfill its offset from past deals
If the past deals are any sign, Dassault is never ever going to share the know why regarding engines nor any significant offsets so it is not benefiting our own improvements.
ToT is a big meme. Only pure R&D triumphs.
IAF is gaslighting people, orange congress is doing the same destroying our strategic industries, flushing our forex to most likely benefit few select dhandhos who never want to do R&D.
People are not able to digest the fact that same government which is giving excuse of "36bn usd over 5 to 7 years", lie btw it will be 50bn+ and eventually 70bn+ usd, has not been able to invest even 1bn usd honestly in our own engine program.
Questions are
>Why is R&D spending completely stagnant
>Why didn't IAF go for super sukhoi program
>Why has GOI not approve the High altitude test beds, tejas mk1b type programs or even CCS clearance for AMCA, UCAV ghatak
>Why government has delayed the files repeatedly when it comes to indigenous programs
Demand is simple, first pour money in our indigenous programs and R&D then import with whatever is left.

Tejas mk2 might not be the best but we can buy 400+ tejas mk2 with this level of budget just think about it.

I feel like even if we cancel Rafale procurement, it's not going to solve anything.
Mk2 still has to see its first flight.

Rafale procurement will solve nothing literally nothing it will destroy our indigenous programs, it will only lead to more import.
But if we pour 30bn usd into our programs we will see success which will be unprecedented. Anyone with single pause can see what 30bn usd can do. Let's assume we will see result in say 4 to 6 years but start it now.
Pakis are not going to mount an attack which can't be thwarted with our current capability. They are a 500km of a stretch a capable missile force can wipe them out. Not that we don't have good fleet.

I'm just hoping for the actual deal to happen with better conditions. 30 billion is too much.
We basically choose the worst possible timeline for emergency defense procurement.
I'm taking a break from all this shitshow.

Just give up pyaare. It's over for the IAF. AMCA will be the next Tejas. An underfunded project with delays, slow production and ZERO export potential. Pray that china doesn't do anything because there's no way a rafale can go up against a J20/J36/J50. In next operation sindoor, God knows how many IAF planes will be ACKED. Anyways, I give up. Discussing these things on bharatchan isn't going to influence the babus and defence officers decisions in South block New Delhi. How did we even get to such a bad situation in the first place.

Take this one with a pinch of salt.
> The Rafale deal could have up to 60% TOT.
> Existing Rafales are going to be upgraded to F4 standards.
> The deal is still being discussed (not finalized).
