why is terminal based text editing still a thing 2025? Are these guys even real? I don't care about le Makefiles or whatever, I am just gonna press "run", just use Xcode or Visual Studio.

I use Notepad++ because it's an 18 year old habit.
Yeah, using it since '08.
I use codepad because I'm too lazy to make folder with files or open VS Code and type the command to make boiler plate. Although I like Vscode, I'm still not used to it even after 6+ years of using it.
I don't understand people who use vim but maybe it's just a bad habit carried on.
When on SSH, I prefer to use a separate client for transferring and opening files, just so I don't have to use a terminal based text editor.
