Or should I go with something more light like a under 40k laptop. I am buying a refurbished one. (yeah i know past users coom stains on display and yada yada). But I could be getting an insider deal here for less than 30k. These are company laptops. Employees leave and IT companies sell them off. So that way I can maybe get a good deal on these.
For example the friend i am getting this deal through, recently brought an HP book worth 87k for 25 thousand. It came with 360 degree hinge and touch display and all. I dont want a 360 degree laptop since I don't trust refurbished latops with 360 degree hinges. So what should I do?

My requirements:
CPU: 7730u is a good candidate. Uses 15W for i5 12th gen levels of performance.
Good loonix support 
16 Gb ram (8 is fine for me since debian uses less, but should have upgrade options) 
storage upto 1TB in future. 256 is enough for me right now.
Either a 80%srgb lcd with a gpu or atleast an oled if no gpu. I want to enjoy atleast either gaming or slop consumption.
Don't care about refresh rate. 60 is fine. 90/100 is perfect. No point above that.
No HP, overpriced shitware with bad hinges. Now please what do?

Damn, general suggestion - focus on the specs you can't upgrade. Focus on vram, gpu, cpu.
Secondary focus on - future upgradable possibilities.
Screen priority should be secondary - you can always have a monitor.

anyways do what your heart says, i remember asking this exactly 2 years ago, all of inch said to not buy mcbook air m1, but it turned out to be an amazing deal for me (55k), no issues, sleek and easily portable (a huge requirement for me), no regrets; listen to your heart and needs

My friend has owned a loq since 1 year. I helped him undervolt it. When not throttled, it rips through the battery and eats 60W power with temps reaching 100 degree celcius even on 38 degree ambient temps.
When I saw this I limited the power draw to 40-45W. That way it lost about 7% of performance, but atleast temps do not go higher than 85 degrees now. Considering it was an 13th gen intel, running it on base conditions would have probably fried itself off in a year or two. 13450HX is already a beast. Losing even 10% of performance only for the CPU to run at a max 80 degrees is a good tradeoff for me. I am going to limit it to 25W when I get my hands on mine I think. No going above 65 degrees on my watch. Only going to unlock the power draw for RDR2 when I get it. Other than that, everythang on the lappie will be underpowered and undervolted.

I know ji, but in this kalej life, I just can't make do with the desktop. I have a pentium g2030 which I have been rocking for 10 years now. Brought it in 2015 IIRC. I can still manage my college stuff on that. It smokes though all the basic ass coding I do. It's just libreoffice that lags a lot now. Even if we were to ignore that, online collaborative powerpoints are like walking on glass. Don't get me started on how I have to run to my room for every little computer thingy. I remember having to edit out submission video for SiH, Davinci doesn't even support my CPU, requires 4 threads atleast. Had to download and use picrel for it. Worked though. No shit on lightworks but this little (by the way I am a nigger) really pulled through for us. (my other teammates were on train), and the girls, well they aren't doing any good task for the team either.
