A few hours ago I saw a short of a lecture session in IIT and some students were using their phones, recording the class and uploading i on youtube for likes, and some were literally sleeping wearing Simpsons shirt or something. Of course the person giving the lecture is not even aware of what's going on because he's too far away.
The comments were "that person is not sleeping he is analyzing", "everyone in this roof are brilliant so don't underestimate them", etc.

There's nothing to cry about. I have seen it first hand that my teaching was of no use and students studied everything they have to on their own even in tier 3 colleges. It's just a statement.
Had it been some other college they would've commented on how poor the classroom is and how the teacher has no control, but if it's IIT then it's somehow okay for students to sleep.
