i am neutral about this but I think the ocassion should be celebrated in a way that you remember it for years to come. It is necessary that it gets imprinted on the minds of both families and other relatives so that nobody can even think of divorce if something goes wrong.

its a game of luck i guess. Generally a well settled handsome man asks for more dahej. Also if the girl is beautiful enough for the boy then he may ask his parents to get the marriage done even for a lower price as offered by the relatively poor parents of the girl.
