As always one of the things indians fail at is realizing what issues to think of from the perspective of national issue and what to think of from say regional issue.
When you say india has 1.5bn people with tfr of 2, it provides you fake picture.
Because if you look inside, data is old, india's population and tfr is exaggerated.
In reality tfr is lower, population is lower and things are brutal than we realize.
Major growth engines of India are turning poor before they could get rich, i mean still they can reach 15k usd pci by 2050 imho but truth is that they are getting older, not breeding enough and it will be an issue for these states.
UP and Bihar can't supply the manpower for rest of the India, because they will suffer even worse fate.
None of the states are thinking in sustainable manner, everyone is oneshotted by the psyops related to population - the failure of cities into blaming everything on population.
