What do hindi and other indo aryan languages sound like to madrasis who dont understand them? Like what syllables sound distinctive to your ears? To us, madrasi languages sound very retroflex heavy and sounds like 't' (as in tea), 'ng' (as in sing) and 'L' seem to occur very frequently.

sanskritic languages generally tend to sound soft, except maybe telugu. We honestly see your language as extremely faggy and effeminate, except maybe certain dialects like idk bihari or haryani, but it could be because people from those areas are extremely feral and rowdy type, so who knows

Malayalam and Hindi are more similar than different, atleast in comparison to other Dravidian languages because of heavy use of sanskrit in malayalam.
Malayalam is basically proto tamil + sanskrit

Linguistic classification is based on grammar, verbs and substratum not loanwords. I can catch sanskrit loanwords easily when hearing some dravidian song or movie but the languages are still dravidian.

Yes because Malayalam is still inherently Dravidian. It still follows Subject-Object-Verb word order, has postpositions instead of preposition and no gendered grammar like Hindi

Indo aryan languages also follow SOV order but yeah overall grammar and verbs are completely different. Tho its funny how i get to hear more sanskrit nouns in dravidian languages than actual aryan languages where perso arabic loanwords have crept in due to islamic rule. 1/3rd of hindi nouns are perso arabic words tho og verbs are still 100% intact.
