What are your opinions on Russia?
Personally, i despise it and believe NAM and then the alignment with the soviets is one of the greatest mistakes India ever made. Theres a reason why America aligned countries are all quite well developed, because trade and good relations with the most powerful country on Earth is obviously beneficial. Even China is so developed now because it grew closer to USA during Nixons era, which led to them investing in China.
Either way, I think blowing Russia off like this is cringe and shouldnt be done. If history was slightly different, ussr would have supported pakis in 1971 and it would have been Americans who came to our aid. There is no reason to be so sentimental towards Russia.

I get your point, but being extremely dependent on another country is a liability that has to be fixed as soon as possible. Indias military is somwhat of a laughing stock because of having an assortment of military tech, many of it incompatible or sub optimal when combined, from so many different countries.
I am not saying we should give up on russia immediately. The only really important things we get from them are military tech and unsc vetos. We need to get on the alternatives like indigenous tech asap and switch alliances
