I've noticed a trend within my social sphere, extended family and also neighbourhood.
The new generation of married couples (1990-2000 born) are different from our fathers and mothers. Superficially, they are still 'traditional hindu marriages', but on the inside a shift has occured. I've noticed that in new era couples, the wife sees herself as equal (and sometimes even above) the husband.
I have seen so many times the wife go against her husband's word, refuse his demands, even make slight jokes at his expense in public and so on. So many times in social events the husband just tags behind his woman, following her around like a dog.
Even in their personal life I've noticed (from my mausis and didis) that the woman makes major decisions, like where to buy house, where to send kids to school, etc. Specially if the couple lives alone and away from the iparents of the husband (which they very often do in this age).
This would never have gone on with my father and mother. My mother didn't even speak his first name, used to obey his words like they were spoken by god, serve him in every way she could (food, tea ready exactly when he wants it, foot massages after he came home from work, following his lead in public etc.).
It worries me that I might never find a woman like my mother.

Eh, this happened with my mom too but then again it's no surprise why my older sister turned out the way she is(long story short, divorced and now a 30 yo single). Now she seethes and says that she should have raised her like our neighbours daughters.

New age husbands are also big time haraamis. They engage in degenerate sex. Things like BJ, cunnilingus etc decreases mutual respect in the couple significantly. Also the way new age man always try to shrug off his greater responsibilities towards the household by sacrificing his own mental and physical health isn't making things any good either.
The only solution is that from day one, the husband should never let his emotions control his behavior towards his wife. Respecting the boundaries of traditional decency in a relationship is the only way one can amend this culture. But modern men are too weak and too brainwashed thus they act opposite, thanks to the media that they consume.
Also the wives shouldn't have unrealistic expectations from their husbands which they learn after consuming modern social media content.
In simpler words the relationship should remain cold and respectful with occasional subtle sparks of warmth for a marriage to last for the lifetime.
Religiously oriented households fare better in this regard.
Never marry an outright atheist woman. An agnostic woman is still redeemable. A religious woman is much desired. A less educated woman is the ideal.

my current interests lie in in philosophy so I read a few charts of philosophy, politics and one of shakespeare. My interests are deviating towards arts and literature because I want to ace my conversational skills in an intellectual upper class atmosphere. Also having good conversational skills with encultured anchors to my spoken language will definitely help in creating a suitable intellectual household atmosphere for my future children.

There are different things that need to be taken care of in such marriages. The dynamics and approach differs significantly in order to make such relationships last for lifetime.

I can create a long post here but the micromanagments will have to be taken care of by oneself. No one else can teach you experience. Its something you learn by yourself. I feel myself to be kind of blessed for being so sensitive to subtleties of life along with being so tolerant of alien cultures, methods and ideologies. This quality of mine has cause me repeated pains on the deepest levels but made me more absorbant to different contradictory ways of life. I have a fairly good propensity for doublethink.

Kalpa Sutra even goes a step further in claiming that taking birth in Brahmin household is based on the lower 'gotra karma' (1 of 8 karmas) of previous births. Kshatriya (to which Mahavira belongs) varna is higher than Brahmin varna (obviously because Mahavir happened to belong to Kshatriya varna).
