Because during the mid 10s, there was an oversaturation of yurishit and cgdct shows that led to widespread assumption that many otakus suffer from autogynophilia and haters started to call it tranime. Of course this ain't true anymore and both genres aren't as dominant as it was in the past, in fact it seems like trannies these days hate anime more because it's pandering more to straight male tastes more.
